I think you made the right call. My not-sore, not-at-all raw thumb is certain you did. But I tell ya what, after takin' a tour of Chris the Powder Coater's shop, the ambitious dreamer part of me is thinkin' about how cool it would be to build a smaller version of that in a backyard shed. Right next to my imaginary wood and metal shop. Might even get a <a href="http://www.amishbackyardstructures.com/aframes_garage.html" rel="nofollow">barn-raisin' experience</a> out of it too.
